One-Year MBA Program Frequently Asked Questions

In working as a Goizueta Ambassador, helping prospective students with their MBA choice, and speaking to friends and colleagues about their MBA interests, I get many questions about the One-Year MBA Program here at GBS. I always enjoy talking about the program and answering questions about it, but I thought it would be a great idea to formalize some of the frequently asked questions I get in a post to help prospective students or even anyone with a curiosity about what a One-Year MBA program looks and feels like. I will tackle the experiential side of things, but please...

A Conversation with Dean Brian Mitchell

Having completed two semesters of Business School, I believe that faculty is the top influencer of the MBA experience. In my opinion, a school can have the top facilities, a great location, and amazing students, but all of those factors can be mitigated by a sub-par faculty. The best part of the summer experience of the Emory 1-year MBA program is that we, the students, have had direct and unfiltered access to all levels of faculty. I have really enjoyed getting to know the faculty and leadership here at GBS, and after polling some classmates, it sounds like...

ONE YEAR AT GOIZUETA: PRIYANKA VOHRA – FORT BENNING LEADERSHIP ACADEMY CHALLENGE

I don’t come from a military background; in fact, only one person in our intimate class of 66 does know what it’s like to be in the army. Therefore, it came as no surprise that on the day of our highly anticipated Fort Benning Leadership Academy Challenge, the idea of being on the bus outside school at ‘Oh Six-Hundred’ on Saturday morning was a bit of a foreign concept to everyone. That morning, as we arrived at Goizueta before sunrise, I could sense the exhaustion of my classmates. After all, we’d just wrapped yet another intense week of deliverables, and...

ONE YEAR AT GOIZUETA: STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS

Coming into Goizueta this summer, we, the One Year 2017 MBA class were already aware of the great legacy of those that preceded us. This legacy starts with Roberto Goizueta himself, the legendary Coca Cola CEO who took an already established iconic global brand to new heights with new bottling and financial strategies. The legacy then trickles down to the long list of prestigious alumni who have roamed the halls of Goizueta. All around the world, GBS alumni work as CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies, heads of state, successful entrepreneurs, and much more. We were greeted in our first...

ONE-YEAR AT GOIZUETA: PRIYANKA VOHRA – MYTHS & FACTS: ONE MONTH IN, LOOKING BACK

I think if time traveling existed, it’d feel a little like the past month at Goizueta.  Somehow, in the past 4 weeks, we’ve managed to fit in 500 pages of reading, 2 KEGS, 12 team meetings, 4 Alon’s lunch boxes, 9 case studies, 2 days at Lake Lanier, 3 quizzes, and 1 wine down. And those are just the stats I can remember! Remembering back to those weeks leading up to Onboarding, I did my due diligence of reading about the summer experience at Goizueta for the One Year students. I talked to alumni, current students, and I even...
