Travel Diaries Profile: Meet Chris

Undergrad: University of Georgia.  (B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology)

Where I work, Role: Battelle Memorial Institute, I oversee contract research scientists and research projects at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

MBA Studies: Marketing and Corporate Finance.

Future Plans: I’d like to focus on general management and leadership within the science research and development realm.

Best Goizueta memory:  Realizing how intelligent, skilled, and unique my classmates are.  I look forward to class because it’s an opportunity to learn from my classmates who are from all over the world and work in very different settings.

Why Goizueta: Goizueta was the only school in Atlanta that offered Management Practice and Leadership Development programs, which involve students working with real companies to help solve real problems once classes end each semester.

Best career skill learned at Goizueta: How to present business-relevant data or research. Once you’ve analyzed a situation and generated recommendations, you have to be able to present them in a concise, logical manner.

Best trip experience: Taking a day-trip to Brussels, Belgium to tour the European Union (E.U.) parliament building and museum, where we learned all about the cultural struggles of making the E.U. work.
