The celebration is organized by the Emory Veteran’s Association (EVA), which is led by co-presidents and Goizueta MBA students Charles Stewart 17MBA and Steven Blackmon 17MBA. The MC of the event was Dr. Jeff Rosensweig, Goizueta professor of finance and director of the Global Perspectives Program. VETERAN FIRST SEMESTER REFLECTION

Submitted by Sacha Silvana (Army), first-year student in the Two Year MBA program This fall at Goizueta I had the opportunity to participate in a wide array of activities.  One of the main highlights for me was getting to know my high caliber classmates.  The class sizes are relatively small, which allows you to really bond with your classmates.  Not only do you get to know them personally, but you learn many new skills from working closely with them.  Goizueta does an outstanding job at creating a class of accomplished individuals from a variety of backgrounds.  Pertaining to academics, a...

One-Year Profile: Rohan Chatterjee

We asked a few of our One-Year MBA current students to blog regularly in order to provide a snapshot of their Goizueta experience. Meet Rohan Chatterjee 17MBA. Name: Rohan Chatterjee Class Year: 2017 Concentration: Consulting (healthcare/strategy) Previous Employer: Protiviti Undergraduate Institution: The University of Georgia Why I chose Goizueta: As an Atlanta native, I have always been aware of the Emory brand and have strived to associate myself with it. Goizueta’s prestige and strong focus on consulting really attracted me to it initially, and once I got to see the collaborative and innovative culture firsthand I was sold. The One Year Program format...

TWO YEAR VETERAN REFLECTION

Submitted by Benjamin Feldman, U.S. Army Veteran and Two Year 2016 alumnus. Co-President of Goizueta Veterans Club 2015-16. I’ve just finished my 2nd year, full-time MBA at Goizueta, and previously I was an active duty, U.S. Army infantry officer for 7 years.   For many reasons this past  semester was a great one, but the biggest reason was that I decided to accept my full-time offer from Citigroup here in Atlanta, and so my wife Alison and I are very excited to settle down here in the city. I had a great internship experience with Citi this past summer, and...

ONE-YEAR AT GOIZUETA: BRETT PATTERSON – SOUTHEAST ASIAN FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH, & DINNER

“How has this experience changed you?” – The prompt for the final paper following our Mid-Semester Module foray around Singapore and Malaysia “I’ve gotten a little fatter…?” – My first thought in regards to the two weeks of Southeast Asian delights I have to admit, as thrilled as I was to explore a new continent and culture and cross some places off my travel bucket list, I was also a little nervous about acclimating to the Southeast Asian diet.  Growing up, my family had a steady rotation between American, Italian, and Mexican food.  I have always been a little...

THE TWO-YEAR PROGRAM: STEWART’S EXPERIENCE

From Stewart Winslow, Marine Veteran, Two-Year MBA 2016: What began two years ago is now about to conclude in less than one semester.  That journey which started with the miserable balancing act of managing responsibilities at 1st Marine Division Headquarters while studying for the GMAT/GRE, while researching multiple MBA programs, while standing overnight posts is actually about to end.  It has flown by.  Similar to the stresses of military schools, training programs and deployments, the Emory full-time MBA program has been a series of stressful deadlines, crunch times, and “times to prove yourself”.  What a lot of people do not realize...

ONE-YEAR AT GOIZUETA: BRETT PATTERSON – THE HEALTHY MBA

It’s the beginning of January.  A new year, a new semester, and a few resolutions.  I am not typically a New Years Resolution type of person, but I always find the fitness and diet craze to be particularly interesting this time of year.  I dread my regular trips to the gym because I know it will be overly crowded with the temporarily motivated resolution makers, yet I get incredibly excited by the increased inventory for discounted workout clothes at T.J. Maxx.  But whether you have a resolution or not, the MBA experience has the tendency to add a few...
