What initially drew you to Goizueta Business School?

I had a front-row seat to Goizueta’s resources, benefits, and overall awesomeness while majoring in the College of Arts and Sciences at Emory. My brother is a junior in Goizueta’s BBA program, and my teammates and close friends from the swim team are part of it as well. By listening to and learning from them, I realized how great Goizueta was and the range of opportunities it offered. What stood out most to me was the people and the collaborative, high-energy environment they described. I also love Emory and the people who make it what it is, so it was an easy decision to continue my education as an Eagle.
What has been your most memorable experience during your time at Goizueta?
My group’s LEGO presentation for our business communications class was the most memorable and exciting experience for me. The group I was part of worked extremely well together and delivered a fantastic presentation. It was rewarding to see our hard work pay off as each of us owned the project and presented with confidence. Professor Savage has our LEGO block souvenirs on his desk! It turned out to be one of the first times I genuinely enjoyed group work and felt proud of the final product. It also serves as an example and a testament to the amazing people in the Master in Management program. In the past, group work was never my first choice, but the groups I have been part of in this program have been full of motivated, committed, funny, and kind people
How has your Goizueta education prepared you for your next career step?
Throughout my time in the MiM program, I have greatly improved my consulting thinking, my structured problem-solving, and my communication skills. Through our U.S. Soccer client project, I learned how to break down ambiguous problems, build clear frameworks, and communicate recommendations with confidence. Another big improvement is my ability and approach to group work. I now actively enjoy working on teams and see it as one of my biggest strengths as I move into my career. I am currently job searching and feel very supported by Anna and Carla. They are consistently checking on me and offering support. I have had coffee chats with my professors, and it’s clear that everyone in Goizueta is willing to offer advice, their networks, or anything else to support my job search process.
What advice would you give to incoming students in your program?

Say hi and make friends with the custodians, parking attendants, and groundskeepers around campus – they are wonderful! And be excited! Say yes to as many things as possible and seize all the opportunities that come your way.
What’s one piece of advice you received at Goizueta that you’ll carry with you throughout your career?
End well. Also, don’t let scarcity drive your decisions.
How do you plan to stay connected with the Goizueta community after graduation?
In a couple of years, I would love to give back and be on the other side of the MiM program’s Takeoff Tuesday. I thoroughly enjoyed the program and learning from Emory Goizueta alumni about their early career experiences and their advice and tips for us just entering the business world. I will be excited to receive a call from Professor Rackliffe or Anna in a few years to do my own Takeoff Tuesday for the MiM program.
What are your long-term career goals, and how do you see yourself making an impact in your chosen field?
I plan to lead organizations by connecting talented, hardworking people and building strong teams. I see myself as the glue, someone who elevates others and helps develop future leaders. I am excited for the opportunities in my future to lead and make a difference.
