Background: My name is Pat, and I grew up in Albany, Georgia. I attended the U.S. Naval Academy for my bachelor’s degree, where I studied Systems Engineering and played college football. I graduated in May 2017 and was commissioned as a U.S. Marine Corps Officer. I spent the next year as a coach of the Naval Academy football team before completing Marine Corps basic training and becoming an Aviation Supply Officer. I spent the next three years in San Diego with one deployment to Kuwait in 2020. I left active duty in 2022 to pursue my Full-Time MBA at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
Why Goizueta: I decided to pursue an MBA to build a solid foundation of business skills while transitioning to a civilian role. I had a desire to come back to the Southeast and wanted to ensure I could recruit for consulting roles at the top firms in the country. That helped me narrow my search and compare what different programs had to offer. Emory differentiated itself with the small class size, experiential learning experience provided through the IMPACT program, and the tight-knit veteran community led by LTG (ret.) Ken Keen.
Career Goals: I will join EY-Parthenon as a management consultant in 2024. Long term, I have interest in venture capital and working with companies in the health and wellness or sports industries.
Hobbies/Other Interests: I love spending time outdoors running and cycling and occasionally compete in endurance races. During my time at Emory, I have completed an Ironman triathlon, a 50 mile ultramarathon, and a 35-mile run in the Grand Canyon. My wife and I love to try new restaurants in Atlanta, and we are expecting our first child in March of 2024.
