Making the journey from the south side of the city. As you can see, the traffic is filling in nicely. A 45-minute drive can take up to an hour and a half during rush hour. On Monday morning, I spend time getting caught up on voicemail and e-mail. I have a weekly one-on-one with my boss, and I need to be prepared with what’s current! The only way for me to keep up with multiple tasks is by keeping lists! Sometimes, I need to use the whiteboard to make notes about the big picture or to keep a future...
Wednesday: Enjoying a 15-minute break between classes and the spacious study spaces in the business school.
I spend quite a bit of time in my cubicle with my laptop “figuring it out” as Professor Noonan would say. The issues that arise are not always clear cut and require a blend of skills to address. As a newer student (first year), it’s important to me that I get to know my classmates. Also, I hope to positively impact other potential students. Whenever given the chance, I volunteer at recruitment events.
Thursday: Getting a guest pass for Dooley’s week at Dobbs University Center
Friday: Seeing talented rapper and singer Kendrick Lamar on campus at McDonough Field.
It’s nice to work at a place like Emory where there’s a beautiful backdrop. Even looking out over the streets, there a pleasant view! In addition to the view, we love visitors. Working in a team feels the same both in class and on the job…we generally crowd around the table with our laptops and discuss the focus of our project. Today, we updated slides for an upcoming event. When you can’t get out for lunch, you have to bring lunch to you! Food makes people happy, so I am always up for a working lunch. I’m hard at work...
